Update February 2026
A milestone that brings hope to life
On February 28, 2026, we celebrated the opening of this significant milestone with great gratitude and deep joy. What had long been planned, supported, and prepared with great dedication has now become a reality: a place of learning, growth, and the future. For us, this day was far more than just the dedication of buildings. It was a moment when a vision became reality—together with the community for which this project was created.
A day filled with honor, encounters, and moving moments
We were deeply moved that so many distinguished guests were present on this special day. Our foundation’s founder traveled here specifically for the occasion, as did our board chairman. Our chief architect also came all the way from Addis Ababa to share this special day with us. In addition, we were honored by the presence of high-ranking guests: the vice president of the region, a former ambassador, and the minister of education all praised the project and its significance for the community. Thousands of people gathered—an overwhelming sign of the immense interest, hope, and connection to this initiative. It was particularly moving to see the key stakeholders of this project in person: the students, the teachers, and the people from the region.
Celebrate together, explain, and take the next step
On this special day, we were able not only to showcase what we’ve already accomplished but also to share our vision for the future. Together, we experienced the impact this project can have—and what is yet to come. We talked, danced, ate, and celebrated. We honored what has already been achieved while looking ahead to the future. Another important step was the official onboarding of our local project manager, who will provide even stronger on-site support for implementation moving forward. February 28, 2026, will therefore remain a day of gratitude, community, and confidence for us—and powerful proof that real change is possible when people work together to build something greater.
